Been 5 years since we lost the best promoter the Northwest has known. Great Friend to many. Thinking of the #92 Thompson Logging Sprinter today, and the memories you left us from Dirt Cup. Thanks, Fred

I remember it like it was yesterday,  sitting out a rain delay at Dirt Cup when Kelly passed on the news.  I`ll never forget it...suddenly no one even cared about trying to race anymore that night.  We were all in shock....

Really miss his presence in our racing world.

Stopped at the cemetery on the way home today, as I do often, wishing he were still here.

Same here mesprint. Was at Skagit that night as well. My cell started ringing off the hook asking if it was true. Was even receiving phone calls from Northern California about it, the word had travelled that quickly. You could of heard a pin drop that night.

Hard to believe it has been 5 years already.

yes, it is hard to believe that much time has gone by. I was also at Skagit that night and got a call from a buddy at GHR right after it happened. RIP old buddy and here is a wink for you ;)

Can't believe it has been 5 years as well. Really miss Fred.

That was one night at GHR I wish was rained out, and I never ever wish for a race to rain out. I also remember that night like it was yesterday

I think just like everyone else here in the northwest, we all have great and fun memories of Fred, and I think every weekend at Elma, or a NST show was so much fun.

R.I.P

I posted an extended note about Fred on my Facebook page, won't bore anyone or hog space by posting it here.
A couple of months ago we had a funeral for a local officer. One song they played was "Cryin' For Me" by Toby Keith. Hearing the song made me think of Fred and has been in my head all day.
Here are the lyrics:

I too remember that night, sitting out the rain delay at Skagit when my cellphone rang. Wanted to pack up and leave, just didn't seem to be worth it after the news. The Northwest lost it's glue that night. Rest in Piece Fred, you are dearly missed.
