Well, I've been going through my computer getting together pictures for  my own scrapbooks, and came across several pictures that had been posted or emailed to me. I thought that this might be a good time to share them.

He was!  Ended up in the trees.  Many years ago we had a collage of those photos put together and presented it to Fred at the GHR banquet.

I think Fred said Irv Westby was driving that car that day.  I know Larry Arrants drove it alot back in the day.

Hang on a minute, I'll ask Lynn Rogers. Okay, Lynn says it's Bob Barr...

I remember the red #29 of Doug James well.  In the one photo is the sprinter running with Freddie is # 56 and that would be Dick Wilskey.  Boy does this bring back some fond memories!!

That is Bob Barr standing next to Fred. Bob was my partner in the corporation, "North cascade Enterprises" that owned my 17w car. We went together and sponsored Fred during some of his early years.

The car they are standing with is a Travis, I think that is the right spelling, that Fred managed to buy from Vern Church. Opperman drove it the first time it hit the track here after Fred bought it. I don't remember if it was the IDC or the Dirt Cup but Jan won in it. The car Jan was going to drive was out of California and they got into an accident on the way up here and Jerry Day called and asked me if Jan could drive my car. I told him about the Travis and they were familiar with the car so they agreed to drive it. Besides I wanted to drive my car.

The entertaining part was that Fred and the crew worked super hard to get it together and Jan had brought John Singer out with him. John made them tear it all apart and put it back together again. Boy was Fred p****sed. Fred wasn't going to let Jan run it but I convinced him that he would learn alot about the car and that would serve him well in future years. IT SURE DID ............ he really learned a lot and that gave him a leg up on the rest of us for quite some time.

The chassis is a Trevis, also known as a Trevis Craft, if my memory serves me right.
