|Like Arron and Nathan do at GHR, the videos of racing at Skagit which are being posted by tradarman, are awesome! I've said it before, and I'll say it again - for us racers who obviously can't watch our own race, and most times are too busy in the pits to watch any of the other races, these video guys that post the races online are the greatest! Every week after the races I look forward to getting home and looking on nwracechat.com to see the videos, not only to critique the performance of myself and my fellow competitors, but to also enjoy watching all the other races. I've heard it said that posting race videos online would hurt track attendance, this idea couldn't be further from the truth. Nothing can replace the sensation every fan experiences by actually being in the grandstands, - the sound, the smell of the fuel, the grit in the air, the electricity and excitement of the crowd, etc, etc, did I mention the chest pounding sound?... In this day and age of so many new things competing for our entertainment dollar, many traditional 'grandstand' sports have seen a decline in attendance. However, the online posting of race videos have no less of a detrimental effect on attendance than the newspapers daily sports scores do...( the NFL doesn't suffer due to reporting of game results ). ( There is not a true sprint car race fan in the country, that when the World of Outlaws comes to their local track, would rather stay home and boo the #15 car on a screen, when they could do it in person...lol. ) So that said, the true fans are going to show up regardless. In this online era, all the still/video exposure that our sport gets from these few dedicated people, helps us compete for attention in an internet world packed with many exciting options. If you view their work, and you enjoy it, let them know... wouldn't hurt to thank them as well..
