|MOMENTUM BUILDING FOR THIRD ANNUAL FRED RANNARD, SR. MIDGET CLASSIC
Momentum is already building for the third annual Fred Rannard, Sr. Midget Classic at Agassiz Speedway on September 8.
Thanks again to the support of so many great people within the racing community this special event will pay a minimum of $1,000 to win and $200 to start the feature race. In addition to the Agassiz Speedway midgets and the Washington Midget Racing Association this year the Northwest Focus Midget Series will also be represented at the 1/4 mile paved oval located 90 minutes east of Vancouver, B.C.
This open wheel extravaganza will also feature the West Coast Vintage Racers (sprint cars and modifieds from the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's) and the American-Canadian Dwarf Car Association. Mini stocks and hornets will also be on the schedule as part of fan appreciation night.
"The last two years have been a lot of fun but this year we want it to be even better," says Fred Rannard, Jr. "We've got lots of neat things planned for the race teams and fans."
In addition to the regular prize money (1st-$1,000 2nd-$500 3rd-$400 4th-$300 5th-$250 6th and beyond $200) there will be $100 for fast time sponsored by Tron Fabrication while contingency awards for hard charger, hard luck, best appearing car, longest tow, sportsmanship and fan favorite will be provided by our friends at Speedmart, Joe's Racing Products and Harding Motorsports Supply.
Last year's winner, Greg Tourond, took home $1,500 including bonuses, making it the highest paying pavement midget race on the west coast in 2017.
Agassiz Speedway will be open for practice on September 7 which is the day before the race.
If you would like to contribute prize money or purchase lap sponsorship for $50 per lap please contact Fred Rannard, Jr. at email@example.com.
