WST Memorial Doubleheader Just Around The Corner
By Ben Deatherage
The Western Sprint Tour will be back in action after around a month off for their second and third races of the 2015 season. Although Mother Nature allowed just on race on opening weekend at Cottage Grove Speedway, on Friday April 24th, the racing was first class with Trey Starks taking home the big win. On Saturday May 23rd the WST will head to Southern Oregon Speedway and wrap things up the following night on Sunday the 24th at Cottage Grove.

Teams from the states of Oregon, Washington, California, and British Columbia Canada are expected to make the journey. And you can guarantee some of the best 360 Sprint Car racing the country has to offer will be put on display at these two magnificent facilities.

“The first race at Cottage Grove was really good and I think set the tone for how the season will play out,” commented Western Sprint Tour Series Director Brian Crockett, “and that's lots of good cars and some exciting racing for the fans.”

Southern Oregon Speedway has just had one local non-sanctioned event this year. That was back on April 18th and Seth Nunes won his first career 360 Sprint feature.

Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted two other local non-sanctioned events with Michael Kofoid winning on April 4th and Roger Crockett on May 2nd. For those keeping score that is three different drivers representing three different states in the first three 360 show in 2015 at CGS.

Be sure and mark your calendars for the Memorial Day Doubleheader with the Western Sprint Tour on Saturday May 23rd at Southern Oregon Speedway and Sunday the 24th at Cottage Grove Speedway.
