EARA Reunion and Spaghetti Feed on Tap May 30th Spaghetti, autograph sessions, memorabilia, scholarship announcements, auctions, trivia contests, raffles, and bench racing are all on the agenda Sunday, May 30th, as the Elma Auto Racing Hall of Fame presents the 2nd Annual EARA Reunion and Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser. The annual affair held in conjunction with the 2010 premier of the ASCS Northwest Memorial Weekend of races at Grays Harbor Raceway will get underway at noon and last until 3:30 in the Borden-Seabert Exhibition Hall on the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds. A spaghetti feed consisting of spaghetti, salad, bread, and drink will be held throughout the time. Former racers under the Evergreen Auto Racing Association will have the opportunity to reacquaint, share stories and memorabilia, and meet today’s racers and fans. EARA trivia contests will give everyone a chance to jog their memories about the early years of racing at Elma. Everyone is encouraged to bring photo albums, scrapbooks, and items of interest to share and discuss. The afternoon is not just about the past as the present and future will have their time as fans will have an opportunity to meet and get autographs from present day racers. Also on tap at 1:45 will be the EARHoF announcement of its first scholarship recipients. The first year program will give out $1300 in scholarships to individuals with connections to auto racing at Grays Harbor Raceway. Live auctions will be held every half hour and raffle items will be given away throughout the afternoon. Admission is $7 for those 14 and up. Six to 13 years of age pay $4 and under 6 is free. Proceeds from the function go to the non-profit Elma Auto Racing Hall of Fame in its effort to honor and preserve the auto racing heritage of Grays Harbor Raceway. I am looking forward to it. Weather permitting I plan on running non-wing at Banks Friday, Winged at Skagit Sat. and then go to Elma Sunday to watch Madmack win the main.
