Michelle,

I announced the Bud I-5 Dirt Late Model race at Southern Oregon Speedway this past Saturday night and thought you would like to know that Dane Smith drove one of the Hackney Racing Late Models in the Bud I-5 50 lapper on Saturday night. The car broke on lap 27 of the 50 laps. He also set a new Late Model track record, although he didn't know it at the time. He timed at 14.650 but was beat by a 14.506. The guy who beat him was later disqualified by a tire rule violation, which cost him the $1500 win AND the new track record. I have known Dane since he was the President of the Rogue Valley Racing A'ssn. and the racing was at the Posse Grounds. At the time, Medford had some of the best Dirt Stock car drivers in the West including Markey James, Pete Cartwright, Don Hood, Bruce Rayburn, Harold Hardesty and I could go on and on. Sort of sounds like "Back in the day", Ha!

Nice run Dane!!!
