While not an addition to the offically posted terms of service, I wanted to caution the general public on an issue that has popped up one or two times recently.

Under the terms of service, slander / libel is a lsited reasoning for deletion of posts and disciplinary action. While both are hard to prove without a shadow of a doubt, it is a serious concern, especially when it comes ot the issue of hearsay. "Well so and so said" is a very grey area in terms of what can and cannot be factually proven.

When posting on a subject, please be vigilant in not speaking for other people, businesses or tracks/series if you are not an authorized representative of said member. If you have specific questions regarding this, please feel free to private message us and we'll address - and again, this is not an official addition to the Terms of Service on this message board, but rather an advisory so we can all continue to get along and promote/enjoy racing and racing discussion in the Pacific NW.

Regards -

Without rules, we'd have anarchy. With anarchy, we'd end up losing our minds. When we lose our minds, we'd end up reenacting scenes from Platoon with Charlie Sheen.

Don't end up reenacting scenes from Platoon with Charlie Sheen.

Boards tend to police themselves one way or another with or without "over moderating". Most of us here are mature adults we don't need moderating. Let the board police itself, it does happen.

You might feel differently if you saw some of the things we handle without seeing the light of day. The Terms of Service (TOS if you will) are just one tool we use to troubleshoot issues and conflicts so we can continue to keep this board open without having to babysit it 24/7.

That is a responsibility that you took on yourselves, so be it.

Having read other boards that are out of hand, I think this one is great.
And NW you are right, it is their board not yours.

Keep it as is it is a pleasant board to read.

Oh now Chuck, you always were such a rebel rouser. I do agree that you have to monitor a board like this. This is a privately owned board. When you come here, wipe your feet and step into some one else’s domain.

I went to another dot dot chat PLACE once. All the posts were very old so I thought I would throw the dog a bone and threw down a tongue in cheek bit of verbiage. Its winter and we need a little filler to keep us active. Holy Crap! A guy from some smuf team ambushed me like I was in an Aurora Colorado theater. I deleted all my posts not wanting my name associated with the psycho negativity of this “Adult” and said I would never go back. My good friend Doug Brown taught me the meaning of never say never and I should have listened to him but I didn’t, so I went back one more time and now the smuf man was still reaming me personally for being a coward with no credibility and every other personal foul name. He called me everything including a white man and that hurts because I am Cherokee.

Adulthood is not necessarily the answer. I know this from the experience of highway driving. It isn’t the kids that are irresponsible, Adults are too. I don’t think I am alone with my thinking or that other board’s posts would not be so old.

Exactly Dean. And being as that I'm not taking a paycheck from this, we need to have some semblance of rules so I may keep what little is left of my sanity before I turn 30 :)

I'm interested in how this is a conflict of interest?

And, to boot, we've loosened the reigns quite a bit in terms of what goes and what doesn't around here.

I just quoted your quote, I believe that is yours correct?

Still the point is, if they want to communicate advisarily or not, let it be. Why bother with trying to post here if "differing oppinions" can't be heard. Isn't that what forums are for? There was no profanity, abusive or slander, just a difference of opinion between two adults that could have worked it out without the monitor interjecting his views.

Forgot about logic, just use commen sense here IMO.

Depending on if you are referring to the same thread I was, yes, there was an accusation of slander. Thusly why I stepped in and made a little addendum to the TOS.

Hi Kaleb-

I've got a few things to discuss with you regarding the two wingless groups and their message boards on this forum. Would you mind sending me your email or giving me a call?

Thanks,
