Have not seen or heard any thoughts on the new Skagit surface.
I'm sure the fans love it. No dust. Its great.
But what do the drivers think?

Well I think the tracks been pretty good. track hasn't been wide open in the mains at all this year so it makes guys have to drive and finesse a little instead of the old stomp and steer. They still need to get the top a little better and the track needs to be wider in the heats but all in all it's been good. 360's seem to be able to widen the track pretty good but the sportsman sprints have had trouble widening the track out and has made for a bottom only kinda track.

The Modifieds are fairly new to Skagit, so I only saw a bit of the old surface before it was changed, but I'm sure the fans appreciate that theres less of that dusty grit in the air. As a driver I really like the new clay, its the same clay as Elma, and has tons of grip. I like hammer down tracks, not so much ones that turn black, and so far this surface hasnt locked down. Skagit can be pretty rough at times due to the weather, but a couple races ago the track was amazing, smooth clean and super tacky. In my opinion, all the money that was spent bringing in the new surface, will pay off immensely.
