|Pittman Scores $12k Outlaw Energy Showdown Win
Alger, WA - Daryn Pittman’s third win of 2017 came at Skagit Speedway Saturday night as he took the lead late from Jason Johnson to pickup the $12,000 to win Outlaw Energy Showdown over the World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
Starting in the fifth spot in the main, Pittman’s car came alive late in the 40 lap feature, as he advanced forward past second place running Donny Schatz and quickly closed on race leader Jason Johnson. It was around lap 33 when Pittman used momentum off the bottom of turn three to slide up and take the lead from Johnson. Pittman managed to get away from the pack in securing his victory, while second through sixth exchanged spots multiple times over the final few circuits. David Gravel ended up taking the runner up position with Brad Sweet rallying to take third.
The Napa Auto Parts Washington Modified Tour was in the house as the support division on Saturday night. Graham Cook ended up victorious at the end of the 22 lap main, taking the lead off the bottom of the track from Kyler Moore with two laps left en route to the win. Moore was relegated to second with Brian Harding taking third.
