Robert G. Hunter will be recognized for his contributions to northwest motorsport history at the 17th annual Greater Vancouver Motorsport Pioneers Society ceremony, Saturday, September 23rd, Shannon Hall (176th and 60th), Cloverdale, BC. Robert will be the latest recipient of the Sandy Lovelace Memorial award which is given to the: "person, or persons, who have made an outstanding contribution to the preservation of the history of motorsport in British Columbia” Previous recipients include Larry Pfister, Rich Carlson and Gerry Frechette. The award is part of the annual ceremony which recognizes motorsport pioneers who have contributed to the Greater Vancouver motorsport scene over the years. The following are to be inducted this year: Bill Tomicki Hot Rod & Custom Car Cort Elliott Hot Rod & Custom Car Dale Pennock Car Collector & Restorer Dan Maxwell Hot Rod & Custom Car Ed Clements Sports Car & Road Racing Harry Robertson Car Collector & Restorer Dr. Keith Wong Sports Car & Road Racing Ken Molyneux Motorcycling Les Miller Hot Rod & Custom Car Pat O'Connor Hot Rod & Custom Car Pete Jadot Sports Car & Road Racing Ron Lacey Motorcycling Tony Carruthers Sports Car & Road Racing Wade Olson Drag Boat Racing The BC Custom Car Association will get special Club Recognition for its 65 years as a club. The ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. It is held at the Shannon Hall, 176th Street and 60th Avenue, Cloverdale, BC. $20 at the door. A light lunch is included.
