Funtime Promotions Owner / GM Steve Beitler has spent his life participating in dirt track racing and that dedication was recognized at the opening night of the 32nd Annual Chili Bowl Nationals when it was announced that Beitler has been elected into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. “I am honored beyond words” commented Beitler, “To be on the same stage with the many great promoters that I looked up to when I started is very humbling. Getting voted into the hall of fame certainly validates my life work”.

Ever since he was a young child all Steve Beitler ever wanted to do was be a race car driver. He attended his first race at 3 months old and has been a fan and participant from that day forward. After 21years as an owner/driver, including 7years with the World of Outlaws, Beitler opened Beitler Performance Center in Burlington Washington. Over the next 5 years, he and his team built the store into one of the top selling parts stores in the country.

His real calling came in 2001 when Beitler purchased the famed Skagit Speedway and Funtime Promotions was born. From the first day there, major improvements began to the facility and assembling the best team he could find, together they transformed Skagit Speedway into a nationally recognized racing facility. Traditional events are the Dirt Cup, Summer Nationals, ASCS Tour and the World of Outlaws.

In 2014, Funtime Promotions took over the lease of the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma WA and another dedicated team was assembled that has seen Grays Harbor Raceway return to the prominence it was at the turn of the century.

The Funtime Promotions group wasn’t done. In 2015, Funtime Promotions branched out to the east and leased the State Fair Park in Yakima for several special events each year.

The next project was the formation of the Summer Thunder Sprint Car Series (STSS) and The Washington Modified Tour (WMT) that compete at all three tracks and in central Oregon.

With three race tracks and two traveling series managed under the Funtime Promotions umbrella, over 60+ events are held annually.

“Steve has been a big supporter of sprint car racing and a great ambassador of the sport” said National Sprint Car Hall of Fame director Bob Baker, “He is widely regarded as one of the hardest working promoters in the country. All of us here at the hall of fame are happy to see he was elected in this year”.

In addition to being elected into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, Beitler was also voted by his fellow promoters as the Region 6 Promoter of the year which includes the 9 western states. He will travel to Daytona for the National Promoters Conference in February where he is one of the six finalists for the (RPM) National Promoter of the Year award. “The past 2 weeks have been pretty amazing. Sometimes, you wonder if people even notice what you’re trying to do. I am so proud of the team at Funtime Promotions and all of our tracks. They are dedicated and loyal, and a lot of fun to work with” said Beitler
