|Golden Wheels was invited to participate in the Open Wheel Extravaganza at the newly acquired race track in Post Falls Idaho. The new owner has planted a seed for what I believe will grow in epic proportions in the future for open wheel racing and provide that "cookie trail" to open wheel racing's history with the inclusion of Golden Wheels and West coast Vintage Racers. A business owner at heart, the new management has put a good effort into Racer and Fan recognition and comfort.
The weekend event actually started on Friday with a free practice session for all classes of open wheel cars that ran from 3:00 in the afternoon until dark. Most were done by 8:30.
The WCVR put on an excellent show Saturday with the multiple trophy dashes, B-main and A-main events. Their portion of the event was a dedicated memorial to the recent passing of two Sneva members. Golden Wheels members got to put on a very spirited rolling display (Race)that got everyone's adrenaline flowing.
The whole 2 days of racing was a nostalgia trip that included G.W., WCVR. WWMRA midgets as well as modern winged Sprint cars and Dwarf cars. This will be an event to "Save the day" for next year.
It ain't about where you're going that's important; it's all about how much fun you have getting there!
