PRIZE MONEY INCREASES AGAIN FOR FRED RANNARD, SR. MIDGET CLASSIC

The prize money continues to increase for the Third Annual Fred Rannard, Sr. Midget Classic at Agassiz Speedway on Saturday, September 8.

Goodwin's Greenhouse Supply has donated $400 which will be split evenly between the top finishing Agassiz midget ($200) and top Northwest Focus Midget Series car ($200). Also, Agassiz Speedway superfan Gary Nivens has donated $500 to the event with $100 going to each of the five main event winners.

This means that the current payoff for the midgets is now up to $1,300 to win with second through fifth paying $500-400-300-250. Sixth place and beyond will all receive $200. In addition there will be a $100 fast time award sponsored by Tron Fabrication while contingency awards for hard charger, hard luck, best appearing car, longest tow, fan favorite and sportsman of the race will again be provided by our friends at Speedmart, Joe's Racing Products, Harding Motorsports Supply and Hoosier Tires.

This open wheel extravaganza will feature the Agassiz Speedway midgets hosting the Northwest Focus Midget Series as they race in Canada for the first time ever and for just the third time on pavement. Also new this year are the West Coast Vintage Racers (sprint cars and modifieds from the 60's,70's and 80's) and the American Canadian Dwarf Cars. Mini stocks and Hornets are also on the schedule as part of fan appreciation night which will feature plenty of prize giveaways for the fans.

"Once again the support from all of our great friends in the racing community has been incredible," says Fred Rannard, Jr. "And to have all five of these classes together on the same night is going to be something very special."

Friday September 7 there is practice scheduled from 4:00 to 9:00. Saturday September 8 the pits open at 1:00, spectator gates open at 4:30, qualifying at 5:30, meet and greet for fans on track at 6:30 and racing at 7:00.
