Against all odds, Deming Speedway completed the 2020 season in good style with winners in all 4 classes that were not just going to roll over and watch their racing career slip by do to Covid -19. Actual early dates that were blocked out by the pandemic would have been victims of early rain outs so they did not have much effect on the season that way. The most obvious was the limitation on having no spectators which dropped concession sales deep into the Port-A-Potty. Closing the boarder added insult to injury since so many of the Deming faithful racing family comes from up North. Chance Crum took the 1200 Gold and the N.W. Focus Midget Gold to boot. Levi Hillier’s consistent improvement all season got him the 600R championship trophy Evan Margeson jumped around in different types of car but still took home the 600 Open Kane Vansickle was a rocket most of the season and took a Jr. Sprint trophy as tall as the driver. A huge thanks out to the whole Paul Lemely Deming Speedway Team. Until 2021 Clay Cup did get completed but the size was way off do to the low car count do to Covy, but Paul promised 2021 to be bigger and better and he said he will make it all up to those that participate and thanked all that stayed in support of the track through some rough time.
